TRX Suspension Training and Kettlebell Workout 23-09-2010
We've written before about our love for kettlebells and Suspension Training - two very different means of a functional workout, but both highly beneficial with different results.
Kettlebells are raw, intense and efficient. They combine strength training with cardiovascular fitness for a potent, total-body workout that's amazing for dropping body fat and building muscle.
Suspension Training is a great method of all-around functional training with a highly-portable suspension trainer, and is excellent for learning advanced bodyweight exercises such as the one-legged squat or working the abs (such as the brutally effective suspended crunch). It's a good form of stability training that develops coordinated bodily control and helps defines the body.
Combining the two pieces of equipment allows for a well-rounded, total-body routine with minimal investment.
Fitness Anywhere, retailers of our favorite Suspension Trainer - The TRX, regularly release Suspension Training DVD's to help train you in suspension-based exercise. Their latest DVD, TRX Kettlebell: Iron Circuit Conditioning is a fully instructed workout featuring both the kettlebell and TRX, and is even instructed by RKC Chief Instructor, Pavel Tsatsouline.
