Shoulders

Fitstream articles for shoulder training and development.

The shoulder is not a single muscle group. That rounded deltoid muscle covering the joint has three parts or heads. The anterior head (in front) flexes to raise the humerus (upper-arm bone) up and forward as well as rotating it inward. The posterior head (behind the joint) moves the humerus to the rear and rotates it outward. The medial head (on the side) lifts the arm out to the side and aids the other heads.

Your shoulders help in many exercises that strengthen the chest and back. Keeping the shoulders strong makes it easier for them to assist in many compound moves working these muslces.

Make you waist look slimmer.

Sports - whenever you reach, throw, pull, or swing, your arms rotate from the shoulder joints. Strong shoulder muscles make it easier to move with more power and speed, and fewer injuries.
